Turkey wins Several Medals in European Weightlifting Championship

Turkish weightlifter Nurcan Taylan has won three gold medals in the 24th European Weightlifting Championship in Kazan, Russia. Turkish weightlifters won eight medals on the first day of the European Weightlifting Championship. 

Taylan won the medals in the women's 48 kg category after lifting 90 kg in snatch, 105 kg in clean and jerk and 195 kg in aggregate.

Another Turkish weightlifter Nurdan Karagoz finished third in snatch and won the bronze medal with 80 kg. Karagoz lifted 100 kg in clean and jerk and won the silver medal. She was also the winner of another silver medal with 180 kg in aggregate.
